VitalityLife helps your clients save money and get healthy, and rewards them for their efforts. We want your clients to live life well and we’re here to help them do it. The discounts and rewards we offer help your clients get healthier, and save money at the same time.

Our reason for offering discounts and rewards is simple. If your clients lead a healthy lifestyle they could add years to their life and significantly reduce their chance of illness. This means that they are less likely to claim.


How does it work

We’ve worked with scientists and academics to ensure the discounts and rewards we offer encourage your clients to live a healthy lifestyle. Together we’ve identified lots of things they can do to get healthy. We give your clients discounts with our health partners such as half price health screens, as well as useful tools to help them understand and monitor their health, and set goals to improve it.

To help your clients track their progress we give them Vitality points for doing healthy things. This counts towards their Vitality status. Everyone starts on Bronze and can move up to Silver, Gold and finally Platinum. The higher their status, the more they could get back.

The benefits available to your clients depend on which plan they choose.

The opportunity to control their premiums by looking after their health

If your client has chosen Vitality Optimiser, they get an upfront discount on their standard protection premium in their first year, as well as the opportunity to keep their protection premiums low in future years by taking part in Vitality. Find out more about Vitality Optimiser.

How your clients can access cashback and additional rewards

Premium Discounts

If your client has chosen Vitality Optimiser, they still get the chance to reduce your premiums every year with our VitalityLife Plan. The more they take part in Vitality, the bigger the premium discounts become.

  1. At the end of every year, we look at your client’s Vitality status. If it’s gone up, we give them a premium discount.

    If they reached Silver, Gold or Platinum Vitality status, then we’ll give them a discount on their premium which they keep until the end of their plan – even if they don’t maintain that Vitality status in future years. These are the discounts they can earn:

  2. They can get another premium discount the next year, and every year until their plan ends.

    At the end of every year, we’ll look at your client’s Vitality status again. If they’ve reached Silver, Gold or Platinum, we’ll give them another premium discount. These discounts keep adding up. And once they’ve earned a premium discount, they keep it until the end of their plan.

    Here’s an example based on a male, non-smoker with a 25-year plan of £25,000 Life Cover and Serious Illness Cover, at guaranteed rates. We’ve assumed that he reaches the same Vitality status every year, throughout the whole plan.

The opportunity to earn cashback every year

If your client has added Vitality Plus or Vitality Optimiser, there’s an extra incentive to be healthy: cashback. Depending on their Vitality status, they could earn £50, £75 or £100 cashback every year. The more they do to look after their health, the more cashback they could earn.

It works like this:

If one person is covered No cashback £50 £75 £100
If two people are covered No cashback £100 £150 £200

If two people are covered on the plan, they share their Vitality status and earn points together. Because there are two people, they need to earn more points, so we double their cashback.

Plus, any member that also has a VitalityHealth (previously PruHealth) policy can earn double cashback.
