Polar

Polar are the world’s leading manufacturer of personal heart rate monitors.
Whether you are exercising to improve your health or training to compete, to get the most from your efforts or to improve, you need to listen to your body. Polar combines the knowledge and expertise of physiologists, electronic engineers and computer scientists to create products and technology that do just that.
How do they work?
When you start exercising, your heart rate increases rapidly in proportion to the intensity of the exercise that you are doing. With Polar Heart Rate Monitors, the transmitter belt detects the electric signal originating from your heart - and sends a signal to the Polar wrist receiver where heart rate information appears. So it’s a bit like a rev counter on your wrist – giving you a really precise measurement of how intensely you are exercising and helping you see if you are on the right track and exercising effectively.
How do I earn Vitality points?
You can earn Vitality points by running, riding your bike, walking your dog, going to the gym, climbing a mountain or going for a hike with your Polar Heart Rate Monitor. Anytime, anywhere!
What's the maximum Vitality points I can earn in a year?
5 points per 30 minute activity at 60% and 10 points per 60 minute activity at 70% of your age related maximum heart rate. You can earn up to a maximum of 40 per week and a yearly exercise limit of 2,080 per member. Points earned with Polar count towards your exercise limit, so you won’t be able to earn points for other exercise activities on the same day.
